Thermal Paper

Thermal paper is a special fine paper that is saturated with a chemical that helps to change its colour when exposed to heat. It was first introduced by NCR Corpoation. its image faded away soon as it was very expensive but became leader of the market in a very short duration.It is used in cheap,light weight devices such as adding machines,cash registers and credit terminals. The surface of thermal paper is impregnated with a solid mixture of dye and a suitable matrix;a combination of flouran lenco dye and octadecylphosphonic acids. It provides improved print head wear. Also provide better anchorage of flexographic printing inks applied to thermal paper. It elimimnates residue from thermal coating on thermal print heads.
